The more I grow in business (and in life), the more I realize how important it is to pause and check in with myself: Does this still align? Does this still feel good?
When I first started, I said yes to almost everything. I wanted to serve. But what I wish I had known back then — and still remind myself today — is that saying yes to the wrong things (or people) can pull you out of alignment with who you are and what you’re building.
One of the hardest places this shows up is in our business relationships.
Sometimes, you start working with someone and realize that your values or ways of collaborating together just don’t align.
That’s when I stop and ask myself: do I need to address this and set a boundary to protect my peace? Or do I quietly take the lesson, move on, and make a mental note for next time?
Not every situation needs a conversation. Sometimes, the growth is simply trusting yourself to know when something isn’t right.
I’m still learning this, too. But honoring what feels aligned (and not) opens the door to better opportunities and stronger relationships down the road.
Wherever you are in your business journey, I hope this is a gentle reminder to trust your gut, protect your peace, and give yourself permission to say no.
Here’s to growing and learning, together!
xx Jodie
